A rugged design, the IC-F4GS is an ideal choice when looking to purchase a commercial transceiver. Dependent on the model chosen either 40 or 100 talk channels are present, allowing for the radio to be used in larger scaled operations, this alongside being a great choice for a smaller manned operation. 8 Buttons are programmable on the radio, this allowing for the device to be programmed to the users needs, allowing for quick access to features such as power saving mode and emergency call.

Present on the front of the IC-F4GS is a LCD display that auto-dims dependent on the lighting conditions in your working environment. Coming as standard with a Ni-Cd which allows for 8 hours of operational use, but there is the optional extra of purchasing larger Ni-MH and Li-Ion batteries to help prolong the life of your radio. The IC-F4GS is capable of using the Man Down function (Optional Extra), this will notify other radios within a fleet should a radio be laid on its side for a per-determined period of time.
